Grace in Exile contains more than 100 photographs and an introductory essay, which together record the experience of the people of Argaki, who were made refugees following the invasion of Cyprus in 1974. Peter Loizos' connection with Argaki is both academic and personal. His father was born in the village and many of his relatives lived there. From this unusual perspective, he has made the Argaki community a focus of his research during a wide-ranging career as a social anthropologist and documentary filmmaker. Peter Loizos is emeritus professor of Anthropology at the London School of Economics.
